This book is a great read for kids and adults alike! The delivery of its message is sweet, thoughtful, and heart-warming. EWE is the perfect gift for anyone who needs to know how much God loves THEM!

Please feel free to check in once a week, as the EWE Book Blog will be updated with news, artwork, and commentary regularly!

Merry Christmas, EWE!

Ewe might be feeling burnt out or tired as Christmas approaches - I know that last week I was.  This week, though, God's been whispering though through the chaos.  And, His message seems clear: "I'm here.  In the midst of it.  All the commotion, gift buying, parties, family, travel... everything.  I'm here."

As we celebrate Jesus' arrival into the world, let's not lose sight of the fact that it was into our world that He came - the humble, peaceful King.  Right smack dab into a world of chaos.  Right smack dab into the broken human experience.  And, its into our world that He comes, wherever we are, whatever our condition.

Listen to His quiet voice this Christmas!  Let Him guide you like He did the wise men and shepherds - to His glorious presence.  Trust Him to lead you.  Trust Him that He has the whole world in His hands.
While this hustle and bustle world grasps desperately for all that is and appears to be, look toward the one who gave His all, in exchange for you and for me.

God Bless EWE and have a very, very happy New Year!

Ryan

WHAT'S BEHIND EWE?

In Psalm 23, David uses the imagery of a shepherd and his sheep to describe his personal relationship with God. A shepherd himself, it is clear that David understood the nature of both sheep and shepherd: the proclivity of a sheep to wander and the determination of a good shepherd to keep his sheep safe. In the Gospel of John, Jesus uses similar imagery, making it clear that God loves the lost and goes out of his way to seek them out.

At its heart, EWE is a reiteration of this scripturally based image of God. Ewe the sheep represents humanity's fallen nature –one that insists on doing things our way instead of His. The shepherd David (whose name recalls both the Psalmist's name and Jesus' own genealogy and messianic title) plays the part of the Heavenly Father in the metaphor. He gives Ewe a word, and then the freedom and will to choose a path.

It is in Ewe's disobedience and subsequent repentance that David finds the opportunity to demonstrate his faithful, unmitigated love.
